Key things to remember about AI:

• AI can’t understand what it is reading. It operates based on probability, not understanding.

• It is unable to grasp context or tone. A human translator or editor will pick up on subtle cues and subtext, humour, cultural and colloquial nuances, irony, and emotion.

• It will readily hallucinate, which is when the model adds in false or misleading information presented as fact.

• There are serious confidentiality risks involved.

• AI amplifies gender, racial and cultural biases.

• Last but certainly not least, there are major ethical concerns over the data theft that has occurred in the training of large language models.
